Last week in Room 9 Miss sigamoney's class to learn about Earthquakes and how it can effects houses when earthquakes appear.SO when we settled into the class we watched a little video on how
earthquakes happen.

Linda~When the school started?
Glen Taylor School was known as Tamaki No.6 when it first started.
It opened and started running in September, 1958.
Mary~Why the School was set up?

Glen Taylor school known back then as Tamaki No.6 was set up because students needed to go to school and Taylor left the farm. So then they changed the farm, used the land and changed it into a school that is now called Glen Taylor.
Linda~How many pupils then and now?
Pupils from Glenbrae, Glen Innes and St Thomas’ were enrolled on the first day. About 270 pupils attended.

Glen Taylor is located in Glendowie near Glen Innes on W Tamaki Road, Auckland.

They are not that far from Glenbrae School.

Changes in buildings?
Glen Taylor was built from ground, a farmland that was owned by Taylor. There were some changes towards Glen Taylor.

Changes made:

Classrooms have been renovated. They now use technology, such as netbooks and iPads.

The buildings have improved, they have added two more classrooms in the juniors.

My Maze Game Relating to sustainability

In the context of Sustainability I will design and produce a Maze Game for 10 to 13 year olds to be used to solve the problems by creating a maze game about traveling through clean streets and avoiding untidy (Vandalised) streets..


My game works but the lines that i put in don't work i go straight through them

P.E.


Today Room 7 went and played Netball.First we had to do our stretches once we finished our stretches we got into a Boy Girl line then we got into 2 teams. Team 1 vs Team 2 when we started the first game we got our position's i was WD/Wing Defence.I was guarding Miami who was WA/Wing Attack.Then when our game was finished we subbed of for the other team so we had 2 six minute games each once we had 2 games each it was time to go back to class.I learnt so much from the 2 games that we had it was fun and exciting to play netball.

Term 1 Holidayz

                               Term 1 School Holidays

On the term 1 holidays i went to Tamaki Recreation Center because there was a holiday program.When i started i had to go up to the front  and say my name i was a little nervous at first but when i got up to the front i was a little confident

.Once i said my name i sat down on the floor/seat so we can get it started.When we started i had to go in a group the three groups were O.M.G,We Lit,Diversity.

We had to stand on the black line and run and do tewangs around the court twice.

Then 1 day i brought my friend ashley-joe he hed to do the same routine as me he had to say his name then go sit down on the seat

Then we played a little game of bull rush then we got into our teams and practiced on our chant.

When we started to practice our chants we were singing it out for practice.Then we had to perform our chant.

Grace Joel Performance

Today some of the student of Glenbrae went to Grace Joel Rest Home to perform some dances to the people who come  to Glenbrae and make us breakfast. When we got there the maori group sat of the carpet and waited to perform when it was time to present our dance we kneeled in a circle for our leader to do the call. when the call was made we said the words with power we done 2 haka performances Te iwi kiwi & Ka mate K mate. When our Haka was done our waiata from the maori girls and some tongan girls sang purea nei & Te Aroha. After them we had the toangan Girls danceing to Se Uke & the Toangan Boys danced to Pitutauake.

Up next was the Samoan Sasa Mrs tofa played the drum the dance flows with the beat of the drum.Then the final dance was the Cook Island Girls there performance was cool after they finished one of the helpers got up and danced with the Cook Island Girls.Our time at The Grace Joel Rest Home was amazing and fun

Glenbrae Kids

On tuesday the 28th of march the students of room 7 went to Glenbrae Kids and when we got there we sat next to the kids and sang our maori song.Then we went to go play around with them for like 1 hour or half an hour then we had to leave that was sad to leave the little kid cause we a lot of fun with them and i enjoyed it.

Science intensive - Water pollution

Today the students of room 7 went around and the senior & junior school to find if there's any rubbish in our drains.We all found chip packets and empty bottles.We also found rubbish around on the ground
